1:1 in-person coaching v. technology solutions

Is in person face-to-face senior level coaching/mentoring support considered more valuable than the vast array of tech-enabled solutions?

After two long years of seemingly endless Zoom/Teams coaching/mentoring I had fully expected that the days of face-to-face support were destined for the history books. How wrong I was.

In reality just 9% of my clients were happy to continue with remote coaching/mentoring. The other 91% specifically requested an immediate return to in person support which they fed back was so much more valuable, despite the added expense of my travel and accommodation when that's necessary.

From a coaching perspective, it is so much easier to pick up 'non-verbal communications' that allow me to make timely direct (constructive) challenges.

Matthew Bubear recently wrote on Linked In: “Robin is a truly insightful business leader and as a mentor and coach shares critical guidance that comes from his depth of real-world experience and never from a textbook. His style is enthusiastic and he’s a great listener too. Beware though, as he’s always ready to pose difficult questions and offer constructive criticism, which I personally believe is one of the greatest motivators for change. Time spent with Robin always delivers a significant ROI. I highly recommend him.”
